I am using the gimbal, primarily for Mountain biking (mounted to the chest mount) and for filming movements with the grip directly in my hand. Overall, I am happy with it, it is very solid build and gets reliable and smooth results. A couple of things which I hope gopro is going to improve with its next generation or even with a firmware upgrade:
- the grip is charging the gopro while attached, which might look like a handy thing at first sight, but it isn't, since the gopro battery is easily replaceable, while the battery of the grip is not - so you end up after a couple of hours with an empty grip battery, and a fully charged gopro battery plus 3 spear batteries for the gopro in your pocket... at least gopro should give the option to choose, whether the grip should charge the gopro battery or not.
- Second thing is the angle of the gopro, which can be changed by just tilting the gimbal to the desired angle and hold it for 1 sec, there is a lock-in function, so that the gimbal is remembering the angle, however I find this not very practical and doesn't seem to work reliable. So it is important that you check from time to time that the gopro is filming in the desired angle.
