1/5 for Design and overall 2/5? This camera is sold on Digitec as a DUAL SIM phone with external storage. If you read the small print in German on the English part of the website, you know this. I didn't. So, this phone is a SINGLE SIM + external storage, or DUAL SIM + no external storage. So it's a bit rubbish. I only found this out after I had opened the phone and unsuccessfully tried to insert 2 SIMs and an external memory card. And because I had opened the packet, I learned that Digitec will charge me 10% of the purchase price to take it back (which counts like a surcharge on another new phone), even though I hadn't even switched it on or used it. Rules is rules.
Thankfully (?) there are videos on Youtube to demonstrate how to peel the SIM card off the backing using a candle to melt the glue of metal on card, then glue it to the memory card to get around this problem. A flippin' candle!
The other thing you need to know if you're transferring from an older version Motorola G-series is that this phone takes a NANO SIM, not a Micro SIM. I didn't know the difference, but I certainly learnt when I tried to insert my SIMs into the phone. Then I had to call my phone companies and get new ones. And if it's coming from another country, you could be in for a long wait, like me. So now I am using two phones while I wait.
Compared to previous G-series phones, the On/Off and volume buttons have been reversed. This is extremely hard to get used to, especially if you're still using a second older phone (see NANO v MICRO SIMs, above)!
And the good news? The image quality is good, but the phone has a certain lag in it when it takes a photo, so you might miss the moment, but otherwise it is good enough.
The features? Well, it has NFC, which means that I can use my phone instead of a wallet. Which is great, because the phone is bigger than my wallet!
Finish? Yes, it was definitely finished when I bought it. This might be one of the big pros of this phone!
