Superb sound, lovely build quality. But.... This product was built for use with Apple devices. It will work, sort of, with Android and Windows devices, but with difficulty. There is NOTHING on the Digitec product page that makes this clear. When you get the device, the box makes it crystal clear that it's "built for iPhone iPad". Windows drivers must be downloaded (no problem), but the device draws a lot of power from USB sockets so may prove problematic with your PC or hub. But it is the Android connectivity that proves most difficult - an OTG cable is minimum requirement and not all Android phones/tablets will work. This information is buried in the User Manual that is sealed inside the box. Digitec - you should make it clear on your product page that this product is PRIMARILY aimed at Apple device owners. If I can't get it working smoothly with all my Android devices within 48 hours, I'll return it. Which would be regrettable as it sounds FANTASTIC - particularly with my high-end Sennheiser and AKG headphones.
I Quote from the descrition you linked to: "The Q1 Mark II is Apple MFi certified, ensuring a compatible and high-quality component for iOS devices." Your complaint is a fake complaint.
That reference to Apple was not there before. Do you have editing privileges on that product page? Are you a real person at all PCAG8057? Or a Russian bot? How much fun this correspondence is. My complaint is genuine and sincerely offered. Your responses suggest someone who needs to get out more....
@Ronan what about the line in, doesn't that work when you plug in an android-device? just wanted to buy it for my note 9, saw your review and now i'm quite concerned about the compatability.
fiio.net/en/supports/35 - read what the manufacturer says about non-Apple use. I have happily used the line in with a cable to take audio from a number of devices, into the FiiO Q1. And it sounds fine. But if this is your only use scenario, you are paying a lot of money for a very high quality (and great sounding) DAC that simply sits idle! Good luck.
