I bought one of these top spec XPS 13 Laptops and was initially very happy with it.
However, after only 3 months there was a complete Mother Board Failure. Therefore I lost everything (all personal software etc)
Since investigating this issue, I found many other examples of other customers experiencing the same issue.
My experience with Dell Customer Service has to be the worst I've ever experienced of any company in all my years working in the IT industry.
There have been a catalogue of errors from this company, too many to go into detail.
Today they called to say that they have a shortage of parts and do not know when they can fix it.
I wrote to Michael Dell directly in the US. Only since then did things start to happen.
I have now been offered a full refund and will take it, because I could bare the though of dealing with Dell again, if something else goes wrong. Be warned: Buy this Dell product at your own risk!
Your data is on a hard drive, so what kind of motherboard failure was that? Take the hard drive out and put it into a new DELL replacement or copy your personal data over to your Apple Mac now...
Unfortunately I've had similar experiences with Dell's customer service. I owned the 2015 model of the XPS 13. The touchpad started to rattle and the display developed brownish stains towards the bottom. Dell's answer: both within specs. Go figure.
