Upgrading from the D3s, this camera has the same build quality (perfect), but somehow lighter, and the grip feels a little deeper, which makes one-handed carrying with a larger lens much easier. 20MP files are nice and clean, weighing in at around 25-27MB per RAW.
12fps is amazing, but it's what you'd expect with such a camera, and 14fps (mirror-lockup) is also handy to have. The touch screen works brilliantly, although it is sad that it doesn't work for the menu system. Also the ethernet port is nice, but only suits about 1 percent of the buyers, whereas built-in WiFi would have been much handier to have. Overall a super-solid camera, that will perform in any situation, portrait/landscape/sports/photojournalism.
