    Excellent lens for landscape work

    Excellent wide angle. Light and compact, the quality of the pictures is superb, the sharpness is very good. Very good for landscape photography. I recommend it.

    This lens also does justice to a Sony a 7R II.

    The Carl Zeiss Batis 2.0 / 25 mm E-mount full-frame AF is probably one of the best available.

    Pro

    • High imaging performance at open aperture, which is enhanced when the aperture is closed.
    • Also excellent for architectural shots.
    • Natural reproduction.

    Contra

    • No manual aperture ring
    • Manual focusing takes some getting used to.

    My favourite lens for over 2 years

    For pure Milky Way / star photography, I would tend towards the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM.
    Otherwise, the f2 aperture is perfectly adequate even in the dark.
