A super device. Relatively quiet, power-saving in standby, good print quality for text (even in toner-saving mode). I haven't really tested pictures, but it's enough for a few graphics.

    The really outstanding thing is
the driver (under Windows). Usually the printer driver is a big weak point on the device, but here Samsung really scores. Flawless integration, good selection options, and above all, stable and robust. The additional paper tray also integrates perfectly and can be controlled without any problems. IPv6 support is also good (SLAAC and DHCPv6 are supported perfectly). The web interface is clearly laid out, but all settings can also be made directly via the device.

    5* without reservation

    buys another manufacturer

The printer works well in and of itself. However, when I set it up, the printer did not manage to send encrypted mails to my provider, which is why I cannot send scans directly by mail.

    What annoys me incredibly, however,
is that when I bought the printer in 2014, I also bought replacement toners. Half a year ago, one of the toners (all toners had a filling level of 1/3 according to the device) started to draw streaks across the sheets. According to information in various forums, this toner had to be replaced. Since the toner was bought more than 2 years ago, it was no longer under warranty.

So I had to buy a new toner (magenta). I did this, but here comes the hammer: from the moment I inserted the new toner, the previous toner cartridges were no longer accepted. Inserting the old magenta toner did not help either: it was no longer accepted. Conclusion: printer unusable until I buy the remaining toners again for about 300.- (at 1/3 fill level of each toner). So I'm throwing away 100 euros just because Samsung wants to earn a few francs more. Everything is always original toner...

So: stay away from Samsung printers, rather buy one from another manufacturer. And if you already have one, don't buy any toner in stock, they break and then the money is gone.

    no go

as soon as the printer's software thinks that the print quality is no longer right, the entire device is blocked.
Hold on: even scanning is no longer possible.
An impertinence on the part of the manufacturer.
    Unfortunately,
you only notice this when the toner is empty for the first time.

    Contra

    • Paternalism by manufacturers
