I have been using the printer since April 2013 and was very satisfied with it at the beginning. The functionality is very good and the printouts were also of good quality.
However, this changed abruptly at the end of July 2014 (after a good year). Out of nowhere, all the printouts had red streaks. Multiple cleaning and updating the printer drivers and firmware did not help. Enquiries to Samsung support (and their answers) did not bring any improvement either, but finally culminated in the advice that I should replace the magenta cartridge. After replacing the magenta cartridge (the old one was still 34% full) and cleaning the machine once again, I no longer see red streaks. Instead, I now see yellow stripes on the printouts! The yellow cartridge is also still 33% full. I now suspect that the appearance of these stripes is no coincidence. The customer should either have to order new cartridges after approx. 1 year or the service life/quality of the device components is insufficient (unfortunately, there are also several references to this on the Internet, which I had not read before buying).
For this reason I can only strongly advise against buying this printer!

The toner cartridges have an internal counter which expires after x pages, after which all cartridges must be replaced.
I have already replaced the black cartridge, which is now 93% full again, but all 3 colours are now at 0% at the same time.
Now the printer completely refuses to print, even black and white is no longer possible because the colour cartridges are "empty"...
3 colour cartridges are available from approx. 260.-, the printer itself is 179.-.

Bought new original Samsung cartridges and the printer says they are not compatible. However, cartridges belong to the printer model. It is unspeakable that certain manufacturers think they have to control which toners you use. It becomes unacceptable when the manufacturer, like Samsung, has no control over its own technology: Incompetence combined with control mania is simply a nuisance.
Combined with other experiences with Samsung, this means for us: No more Samsung.
