purchased this productHeavy-duty. Heavy.
The first thing that struck me when I took this bag out of the box was that even empty, it is as heavy as my laptop backpack is - with my stuff already in it!
But my laptop bag wasn't large enough for the stuff I end up lugging during outings with kids, and it didn't protect my laptop well. Moreover, it only opens from the top and only half-way, it has practically no interior organisation, so by the time we're on the train, retrieving small items like a bib and picnic cutlery can be a bit like gold-mining.
This bag was clearly built with protection, organisation and convenience in mind. I appreciate the details like the straps that tuck away when not needed, the ability to open the bag from either side as well as from the top, the many zipped elastic pockets on the inside of each of the side openings, the padding protecting my gear from all sides, the handles on the sides as well as the top of the bag, the adjustable / removable interior compartments... I could go on, but this is all explained in depth in online reviews.
Although I wouldn't want to do an alpine hike with this bag on my back; it's too heavy for that. But as it is extremely comfortable to carry even when full, I think this bag would be great for bike tours.Pro

Great backpack, and not only for the photo! What a pleasure to have everything organized, whereas it was usually a mess in my old backpacks...
