This mounting frame is not suitable for installing 2.5" (in my case a Vertex SSD) in a 3.5" bay. The holes on the side for the screws are simply missing.

Attention: The delivered part does not correspond to the picture. The holes are actually in a completely different place than in the picture, the height does not correspond to the standard arrangement of 3.5'' drives and in my case they do not fit in 2 of 3 cases.
The pin assignment is not marked on the adapter, and since the pin that is normally missing on the 40-pin IDE connector is present here, there is no orientation as to which way to connect the adapter. The experiment can lead to quite undesirable results.
Conclusion: unusable.
As a pure mounting frame for 2.5'' drives in a 3.5'' bay, the one from A-DATA is 10 times better: It is "dubbeli" safe, fits practically everywhere and looks even better with the blue anodised aluminium.

purchased this productJust about usable, but not recommendable
It's cheap, but it's actually a piece of handicraft. A little more expensive but much more stable is item no. 2468305.
