EDIT: The bios or bioses are defective on the card or do not work as they should. So far, no response from ASUS. The cards only switch off the fans sporadically when idle - especially when more than one monitor is connected. There are already posts about this in the ASUS forum, Computerbase and the Luxx.

I have now tested the card extensively. With the new nV driver I have no problems and that with a 6 year old BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 650W. The highest clock the card boosted was 2080Mhz. In the meantime, I have undervolted it a little and it now runs stably at 1950MHz at 0.875V.
What really annoys me is that "ZeroFan" does NOT work when two or more monitors are connected - despite "Quiet Bios". This behaviour cannot be changed with GPUTweakII. Only Afterbnuner (in the current beta) can control the fans better. Afterburner switches the fans off, the card wants to go back to 31% (1000rpm) and Afterburner switches them off again. This means that the fans always turn on briefly - but inaudibly. However, this is not a solution in the long run. I didn't have this problem with my STRIX 1080Ti. There was no 30% limit in the fan curve. There is no reason why the fans have to rotate in a multi-monitor setup. The clock remains the same - the GPU does not get warmer and multi-monitor setups are really nothing exotic anymore.
To be able to control the RGB Krebs, "ARMOURY CRATE" (what a crappy name) must be installed, plus Aura Sync.
