The Video Doorbell 4 by Ring has arrived

Ring has revised and optimised its popular doorbell camera. The new Video Doorbell 4 features improved Wi-Fi reception, longer battery life and pre-roll video preview.
Doorbell cameras are popular home security gadgets and are continuously improved with new features and capabilities. This is also the case with the new Video Doorbell 4 by Ring. Equipped with HD video and live video features, you can watch what's happening outside your front door – no matter where you are. And if you have a visitor, you can talk to them on the go using the intercom function. As soon as your video doorbell detects motion, it notifies you on your smartphone.

But what's new about the Video Doorbell 4?
Pre-roll video preview in colour
The doorbell saves video recordings up to four seconds before the motion detector triggers a notification. This allows you to look up what happened before the registered movement at any time and in colour via your Ring app. How is pre-roll possible? By working with continuously recording low-power cameras. The video recordings are stored on the internal device memory and are continuously overwritten. As soon as a motion is detected or a live video is accessed via the app, the video footage is made available via picture-in-picture.
Extended battery life and improved Wi-Fi
Thanks to the optimised power consumption, your battery now lasts even longer and only needs to be recharged after about three to six months, according to the manufacturer. To make sure you never have to go without your doorbell, getting a replacement battery is recommended. According to the manufacturer, the device's dual-band WLAN has also been revised and optimised.

When I’m not working on my DIY projects, I’m probably chasing after a small, fast ball on a tennis court or in a gym hall. Once I’ve let off enough steam, I love soaking up the sun and discovering the wide world.
