It’s gaming without limits with our new Fortnite devices

Fortnite is old hat. But what Jan and I are about to show you is new. We’re presenting the best gaming devices. It’s a balancing act between gaming smartphones such as the Black Shark and fan edition consoles. Do you prefer mobile gaming or are you a home gamer?

I must admit, I’m terrible at gaming. And if you think everyone can learn it, think again. I tried and I failed. But I’m good at imagining what it’s like to be passionate about gaming. So pairing up with my colleague Jan Heidenreich and compiling a list of new devices to go with the game of the year – according to Google – was a piece of cake. Read on to find out about special Fortnite sets and the undisputed AnTuTu number 1 smartphone «Black Shark» by Xiaomi.

Xiaomi Black Shark: AnTuTu's number 1

As if it was glued to the top – the Black Shark. With a score of 289,415 points. What’s so exceptional about Xiaomi’s gaming smartphone? The special look including gamepad, the 8 GB RAM, Snapdragon 845, 4,000 mAh battery and the resolution of 2160 × 1080 pixels. It's equipped with a high-quality aluminium frame and a plastic back, making it easy to grip. You don't have to worry about it slipping out of your hands when you're gaming. By the way: The Octa-Core CPU clocks up to 2.8 GHz and is supported by 8 GB RAM. Even future generations of games won't be a problem for the Black Shark. If you're thinking about getting a new subscription in combination with a smartphone, click here for young customers and private customers.

PS: The manufacturer doesn't officially market this product in Switzerland. Digitec offers the Black Shark with a 24 month bring-in warranty.

Honor Play and Samsung Note9

It may seem strange to address these smartphones in one paragraph. After all, the price difference between the two is no less than 670 francs. But as they say, it's diversity that counts. Apart from that, we want to cater for any budget. AnTuTu places the Note9 on 5th place (283 641 points) and the Honor Play on 30th place (205,439 points). Let's start off with the Chinese phone for 309 francs. Huawei's younger sibling relies on GPU Turbo to increase the clock rate by 60 percentage points and Smart Shock for vibration feedback. With 6.3 inches, the Honor is only 0.1 inch smaller than the Galaxy Note9. The Note9, on the other hand, is a powerhouse packed full of features and including a special Fortnite skin. It might not look like a gaming phone, but it definitely has enough power for gaming. Featuring a special cooling system, this smartphone can even handle the heat generated by particularly CPU-intense games. Apart from this, it boasts these impressive specs: 6 GB RAM, 128 GB ROM, 4 000 mAh, AMOLED, Exynos 9810.

Consoles

Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is the ultimate console when it comes to mobility. Unfortunately, I don't have fancy benchmarks to back this up, but I can safely say that Fortnite runs smoothly on the Switch ;). Compared to Andrea's crummy smartphones, the Switch offers you a larger screen (although only slightly now), great and handy controllers and the possibility to connect to your TV within seconds. Sounds like best of both worlds between gaming smartphones and classic consoles, right? Plus, the Fortnite bundle comes with free in-game currency and two accessories to beautify your character. The bundle can now be pre-ordered and will be shipped on 5 October 2018.

Xbox and PS4

With the Xbox One X, Microsoft has won over the performance leadership again. So it's hardly surprising that the less powerful Xbox One S was chosen as the bundle option for «Fortnite», which isn't as demanding as other games. I was originally planning on highlighting the advantage of crossplay, i.e. the possibility to game against players of other platforms such as PC or Nintendo Switch. But then Sony – after much toing and froing – announced they'll be allowing this, too. Therefore, all I can say at this point is that the PS4 Pro Fortnite bundle is a bit more expensive, but you get a more powerful console compared to the One S. And of course, the outfits are different for each console. The Xbox bundle can be pre-ordered now and will be shipped on 12 October.

What a surprise, it's another Fortnite-hater.
Hast du bei dieser Überschrift etwa einen PUBG-Artikel erwartet :D

Don't need to be a Fortnite-hater for not wanting to see that much article, videos on youtube or others, I play the game but it's kinda annoying that they are still making this game so much hype.

@BlastPVP: I actually don't even play Fortnite, but it doesn't bother me that there are so many articles and videos about it. And it also makes sense from a business-perspective: when there's hype about something then why shouldn't Digitec use this opportunity to promote products that can play the game that lots of ppl want to play right now?

Yeah you are right in the point of business, but I just think that some people got an overdose of those media on Fortnite

@BlastPvP @Yurine27 You're both right. It's just a bit annoying to see Fortnite all over the internet so they kind of have to expect to get a salty comment.

Hi, what about Pocophone F1? Has a low price, but high performance. Misses some features, but they might not be that important to everybody.
