Ab 1. September 2007 müssen auf MP3-Player Urheberrechtsabgaben bezahlt werden. Der der Preisaufschlag beträgt bei einem MP3-Player mit einem 8GB-Flashspeicher satte CHF 41.15! Die Preise werden ab dann also deutlich ansteigen.

19.01.2007Windows Vista kurz vor Markteinführung
Wie angekündigt wird Windows Vista, der Nachfolger des Betriebssystems Windows XP, ab dem 30. Januar 2007 erhältlich sein. Die Lancierung kommt gut zwei Jahre später als ursprünglich geplant. Börsenkreise warten nun gespannt darauf, wie sich das neue Produkt auf die Entwicklung der Microsoft-Titel auswirken wird. Gleichzeitig zum Launch ist bei digitec eine neue PC-Linie mit oder ohne vorinstalliertem Windows Vista-Betriebssystem ab Lager erhältlich.

03.10.2006Lenovo und IBM rufen Notebookbatterien zurück
Lenovo und IBM rufen ca. 526'000 Sony Lithium-Ionen-Batterien zurück. Diese Batterien wurden zwischen Februar 2005 und September 2006 in ThinkPad PCs oder als Austauschbatterien ausgeliefert. Lenovo hat bestätigt, dass diese Sony-Batterien in seltenen Fällen extrem überhitzen können und empfiehlt seinen Kunden zu überprüfen, ob sie eine der betroffenen Batterien benutzen. Lenovo ersetzt alle zurückgerufenen Batterien kostenfrei.

08.09.2006HDTV-Filme demnächst erhältlich
Warner Home Video hat angekündigt, demnächst in der Schweiz Filme im High-Definition-Format auf den Markt zu bringen. Dabei will das Studio beide neuen Formate, also sowohl HD-DVD als auch Blu-ray, unterstützen. HDTV verfügt gegenüber dem bisherigen Fernsehbild über eine bis zu 5mal höhere Auflösung. Das Bild ist unvergleichlich klarer und schärfer, feinste Details werden sichtbar und ergeben einen hervorragenden Tiefeneindruck.

Ab sofort können Kunden, welche Ihre Bestellung in Zürich abholen wollen, sich per SMS von digitec eine Abholeinladung zusenden lassen. Das SMS wird jeweils versendet, wenn der gesamte Auftrag in Zürich zur Abholung bereit steht. Bei jeder Bestellung kann diese Art der Benachrichtigung neu ausgewählt werden.

02.08.2006Neue Zubehöranzeige im Benutzerkonto
Im Benutzerkonto unter "erledigte Aufträge" ist bei den entsprechenden Produkten neu der Link "Zubehör anzeigen" aufgeführt. So kann der User schnell herausfinden, welches das passende Zubehör zu einem bereits von ihm gekauften Produkt ist (z.B. Druckertoner, Akku, Speicherkarten).
22.05.2006Verzögert sich Vista wegen Patentstreit?
Die geplante Veröffentlichung von Microsofts neuem Betriebssystem Anfang nächsten Jahres ist eventuell durch juristische Auseinandersetzungen gefährdet. So hat u.a. der Softwarehersteller Symantec Klage wegen Vertrags-bruchs und Veruntreuung geistigen Eigentums erhoben – Microsoft soll ohne Genehmigung Teile eines Symantec-Programms in Windows Vista eingebaut haben.

Im Jahr 2005 sind gemäss dem Markforschungsunternehmen iSuppli weltweit soviele Harddisks wie noch nie zuvor verkauft worden, nämlich ganze 376 Millionen Stück. Damit ist der Markt so schnell wie noch nie zuvor gewachsen. Verantwortlich dafür sollen vor allem HDs in mobilen PCs und Unterhaltungselektronikgeräten (z.B. MP3-Player) sein.

22.02.2006Urheberrechts- gebühr aufgeschoben!
Wie angekündigt hat die Swico gegen die auf den 1. März geplante Urheberrechtsgebühr auf digitale Speicher (z.B. MP3-Player) Verwaltungserichtsbeschwerde eingereicht. Dieser wurde nun vom Bundesgericht eine aufschiebende Wirkung zuerkannt. Die unverhältnismässige und stark kritisierte Gebühr tritt somit bis auf weiteres nicht in Kraft.

26.01.2006Urheberrechts- gebühren auf MP3-Player
Ab 1. März 2006 wird auf digitale Aufzeichnungsgeräte wie MP3-Player und Festplattenrecorder in der Schweiz eine Urheberrechtsvergütung erhoben. Damit werden die Urheber (Komponisten, Interpreten, Regisseure usw.) pauschal entschädigt. Bisher existierte eine solche Gebühr bei Musik- und VHS-Kassetten sowie leeren CD-R- und DVD-R-Datenträgern. Die zuständige Schiedskommission hat nun die Tarife für MP3-Player und HD-Recorder festgesetzt.

The iSuppli-analysts assume that already in 2006 almost half of all sold CPUs will have two or more core processors. In the next year, Intel even plans to provide 70% of the processors as dual-cores and 90% for 2007. The chip producers focus increasingly on multi-core processors because conventional CPUs hit the capacity limit. With this parallelization they expect a conspicuous performance impulse.

The highly increasing demand of LCD-Panels (especially TV sets) is responsible for a spreading delivery shortage. Despite extended capacities on the part of Flat-Panel and component producers it appears that this shortage affects mainly the 20” to 26"-LCDs. In the current edition of "CE&TRADE", Philips-Manager Ronald de Jong and Manfred Gerdes from Sony confirm rising or at least stagnating prices of flat screen monitors.
